Spectra Project is dedicated to providing basic emergency support, which includes shelter, food stamps, access to water, and hygiene. After surveying the LBGTQ refugee community in countries of transit, we have realized that many individuals do not have access to these basic humanitarian services.
Many NGOs work in the field to serve beneficiaries living in encampments in countries of transit where the beneficiary will stay for many years. In these encampments, there is very limited access to necessary services while they await resettlement or for their return home. However, not many NGOs focus on the needs of refugees living in urban settings- thus refugees in these areas are the most vulnerable, with little access to basic emergency support services. Spectra Project aims to provide these most vulnerable LGBTQ refugees with these services.
